WWW Wednesday is a book blog meme hosted by Taking On A World of Words where book bloggers answer these questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What are you reading next?
- What did you just finish reading?
Here are my picks for this week:
I read this on Monday while subbing for another librarian at a different branch in my library system and boy oh boy, it was the right choice. I had to order it special from Book Depository because it’s not available in the US, and I am SO happy I did. I couldn’t have not had Cait’s book because I’ve been a follower of hers for so long–think pre-Paper Fury when she was still The Notebook Sisters and blogged with her sister. I had super high expectations for this book and let me tell you, 1000 PERFECT NOTES did not disappoint. It was everything I love in contemporaries–beautifully written and lyrical, a huge emotional gut-punch, and music galore. As a musician I was like *tears* and as a human in general I was like *more tears* and then as a huge fan of Cait’s blog I was like *EVEN MORE TEARS* basically this book was a hugely amazing experience for me and it is a new favorite!
I’m finally! Reading! This book!! I’ve had an eARC of it for a while, then bought a physical copy because I didn’t think the script parts in the eARC would work out format-wise. I read a really early draft of NICE TRY, JANE SINNER when it was still called HOUSE OF ORANGE and was being marketed as NA, and I did really like it. I was so happy when I saw the book deal for it, and now that I’m reading it I’m even happier, because it’s EVEN BETTER than when I first read it. I like the diary format because it gives a perfect window to Jane’s quirky, cynical, snarky voice that makes this story really pop, and so far I’m really liking it again.
I never stick to a TBR list so this part of the post is always tough for me, but since I’m participating in Astrothon, I might go with the series prompt. I’ve been meaning to read SHADOW AND BONE for a long time, and since I have it on my Kindle, I might as well read it for this readathon. I also really want to read THE FOXHOLE COURT series because so many bloggers I follow have been gushing about how amazing and queer it is, and I need that in my life.
