Caturday is an original feature at A Word and a Whisper where I match cat breeds with books that either I’ve read or want to read. This week, I’m featuring the Turkish Angora.
As you can see from the picture above, Turkish Angoras are very beautiful cats with gorgeous, fluffy white coats. I have secretly always wanted a white kitty, because I find them very pretty. However, my kitties are obviously gorgeous and adorable gems. Anyway.
The Turkish Angora is apparently known for being intelligent and athletic, so the book I’m choosing for it has characters that exhibit both of those characteristics. The book that I’m picking for this cat is on my TBR list, and it’s THE FOXHOLE COURT series by Nora Sakavic. I’ve seen this book all over all of my favorite blogs, and though I am a little skeptical because the cover is dreadful, I trust my fellow bloggers.
Here’s a synopsis from Goodreads:
Neil Josten is the newest addition to the Palmetto State University Exy team. He’s short, he’s fast, he’s got a ton of potential—and he’s the runaway son of the murderous crime lord known as The Butcher.
Signing a contract with the PSU Foxes is the last thing a guy like Neil should do. The team is high profile and he doesn’t need sports crews broadcasting pictures of his face around the nation. His lies will hold up only so long under this kind of scrutiny and the truth will get him killed.
But Neil’s not the only one with secrets on the team. One of Neil’s new teammates is a friend from his old life, and Neil can’t walk away from him a second time. Neil has survived the last eight years by running. Maybe he’s finally found someone and something worth fighting for.
According to the numerous reviews I’ve read of this book, THE FOXHOLE COURT contains male characters who are soft and lovely and queer. That alone makes me want to read it. Apparently it is sort of New Adult-y because of content, and I’m a little nervous about that because I am not a reader of NA at this point, and honestly am not a huge fan of sexually explicit content. Even reading ACOTAR I feel all blushy inside and I am an enormous fan of that series.
So we will see. Tell me in the comments if you’ve read this series and what your thoughts were on it!!
