I am delighted to say that I have been nominated for the Liebster Award by the lovely Lily of Sprinkles of Dreams! I have not been blogging long so it means a lot to me that someone seems to like my little corner of the internets. Thank you, Lily!
Here is a small blurb about the award:
“The Liebster Award is an award that exists only on the Internet and is given to bloggers by other bloggers. The earliest case of the award goes as far back as 2011. Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, cute, valued, endearing, and welcome.”
1. What’s your favorite book series?
Probably the HIS DARK MATERIALS books by Philip Pullman! I listened to THE GOLDEN COMPASS and all sequels on audio about a million times as a kid. I love those books to death.
2. Do you believe in Karma?
After what happened to everyone at the last job I had where I was unexpectedly let go…yes.
3. If you were to name a child after a book character, what would it be?
Probably Lyra after the protagonist of HIS DARK MATERIALS. I love that name. Plus, she is the epitome of strong heroine that I would want to name a kid after. However, I do not plan on having kids. Not for me.
4. Do you watch booktubers? If yes, who are your favorites?
No. Honestly, I don’t like the idea of booktube that much. Book blogging as a way to promote books makes more sense to me because…it’s reading? Maybe that’s harsh, and I don’t want to discount how influential booktubers are, but I’m just not into the concept as a whole. Plus, the ones I’ve tried to watch all seem very annoying.
5. Do you listen to audiobooks?
Not anymore, but I used to ALL THE TIME as a kid and am a big supporter of them! It’s a unique and cool way to experience a book.
6. Would you ever attend BookCon?
I have, and honestly, after that experience, I would not. Just because you CAN fit 10,000 people into the Javits Center doesn’t mean you SHOULD. Publishers didn’t seem to want to talk to consumers like they would professionals, there was a lot less stuff to grab for the trouble, lines were dreadful, and there were too many little kids for my taste. Maybe it’s changed since I only went to the first one, but I only want to go to real BEA from now on, if I ever go again.
7. What’s your favorite TV show to binge-watch?
Probably America’s Next Top Model (which is embarrassing since it’s such a shallow show, but hey, I like to have an excuse to stare at really attractive girls for an hour, so sue me) or Masterchef, which I watch a lot with my boyfriend. It is our show.
8. What’s your most anticipated release for the second half of the year?
WILDCARD for sure. I loved WARCROSS so much, and it’s an unexpected new favorite, so obviously I have to pick its sequel for this!!
9. If you could spend the rest of your life in any world, where would you go?
WARCROSS!!! This is one of the most vivid worlds I have read recently, and the virtual reality stuff sounds so amazing! Plus, I’ve never been to Tokyo and it sounds so cool! I just wouldn’t accept any free tech from Hideo, just in case…
10. If you could have any pet in the world, what would you have?
The pets I currently have now, aka my two handsome, adorable, loveable, cuddly boys, my cat furbabies, Cedar and Willow. I wouldn’t trade them for any other pets. They are perfect. Excuse me, purrrrfect 😉
11. Elephant-sized duck, or duck-sized elephant?
After reading THE BELLES and reading about their teacup animals, for sure a duck-sized elephant!
I am still a bit shy about actually nominating people for tags and awards, so I am going to abstain from doing that, but please know I think so many of you are amazing! All of the bloggers I follow are so cool and different from each other and I never feel like I read the same post or review twice. You are all wonderful! *hugs*
