recent tbr additions!!

Every bookworm I know has a love-hate relationship with their TBR pile. On the one hand, they’re always endless with millions of things to read. On the other, they’re endless, so there’s no way we can possibly ever read all the books on our TBR lists/piles no matter how hard we try. And then, there are all these silly new books coming out that sound amazing that have to be added to the never-ending TBR piles, which makes it even harder to make headway on them.

Today’s post is dedicated to some pesky books that I’ve added to my bottomless pile of books I want to read, mostly courtesy of NetGalley adding a bunch of new stuff that looks really good. Sorry in advance if I make any of your TBR lists even longer by gushing about these books ๐Ÿ™‚

  • A Curse so Dark & Lonely | Brigid Kemmerer – Honestly, this book has been on my radar for a while even though I only added it officially last week. I haven’t read anything by this author yet, but I am always up for a good retelling, so this Beauty and the Beast retelling was probably going to end up on my TBR list eventually. Then NetGalley had to put it up, so obviously I requested it. Curse you, NetGalley!
  • Killing November | Adriana Mather – It’s assassins! And a boarding school for assassins! And a girl framed for murder! Who might be assassinated next!! To be honest, this book has been done a million times in YA, but I’m a sucker for boarding school books and I’m in the mood for something different than what I usually read.
  • Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee | Jeff Zentner – I’m a little embarrassed to say I haven’t read a Zentner book yet even though he seems to be low-key popular in the book world. This one appears to be about friendships and a scary/campy TV show and growing up.

  • Field Notes on Love | Jennifer E. Smith – I’ve read 3 books by Jennifer E. Smith and enjoyed all of them because they are adorable, fluffy, and delightful, so of course I had to request this book.
  • Death Prefers Blondes | Caleb Roehrigย – Heists with drag queens? Heists are normally not my thing, but this book sounds so fun. Paparazzi! Celebrities! Drag queens! Heists! Criminal activity in general! Bring it on.
  • An Affair of Poisons | Addi Thorley – I think the title of this post should’ve been “books that are not normally my thing but I want to read anyway.” To be fair though, I do tend to like historical fiction when I read it. This one is about Louis the somethingth and a POISONER and DEATH and POISONS and COURT. Yes, please!

  • Tell Me How You Really Feel | Aminah Mae Safi – This! Book! Looks! So! Freak! N! Cute!! omgomgomg diverse f/f romance between an overachiever and an artsy girl. Give it to me noooooow!!!
  • The Beckoning Shadow | Katharyn Blair – This book is pitched as THE MAGICIANS meets FIGHT CLUB and that’s really all I need to know.
  • Fake it Till You Break It | Jenn R. Nguyen – So many good tropes in this diverse fluffy romance, including my two favorites: enemies to lovers and fake relationships!! How could this not be good??
