Just Finished
As you may have gathered from my review, I was not as big of a fan of this book as I hoped. Though it was horror and atmospheric and queer, overall I just found it slow, oddly paced, and boring. It did not live up to my expectations.
Currently Reading
I decided to give WHAT IF IT’S US a shot because all I’ve been enjoying consistently this year are fluffy contemps and fantasies, and this is a queer fluffy contemp which makes it even better. I was really worried about this book because I HATE Adam Silvera’s books and haven’t liked anything Becky Albertalli has written besides SIMON, but as of the first two chapters I am highly enjoying it. Let’s hope it continues to be good.
Reading Next
Yes, I know, my answer for this is the same as last week, but I do really want to read both of these! As of now, I’m leaning more towards BLANCA & ROJA because I’m in a queer mood (although honestly that’s all the time, let’s be real) and in the mood for magical realism, plus I still haven’t read an Anna-Marie McLemore book yet.

I’ve had mixed feelings about Silvera’s books to date. I appreciate the subject matter they tackle but they tend to be SUPER triggering for me. And I hope you enjoy Blanca & Roja! <3
I’ve found with his books that the rep is amazing but that I just find the pacing off and the plots gimmicky. What If It’s Us is super different from his other stuff so far though which is good.
