www wednesday // 4-17-19

WWW Wednesday is a book blog meme hosted by Taking On A World of Words where book bloggers answer these questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What are you reading next?
  • What did you just finish reading?

I thought I would only do 3 posts this week but I really want to do a WWW Wednesday so I guess I’m doing 4? So much for being more low key about blogging when I got back?? Oops???

just finished

I just finished my reread of LEGENDARY, book two of CARAVAL, which I actually enjoyed a lot more than the first time. The only problem with rereading this series is that I’m starting to notice a lot of flaws with the world building and also lots of plot holes. But I did enjoy this one a lot more than when I read it the first time, when I only started liking it about halfway through.

currently reading

I’m currently reading FINALE, book 3 of CARAVAL, which honestly I’m…not enjoying?? The world building and plot holes I started noticing in the other books are really starting to get on my nerves and the writing and structure is a mess and it is just…not very good at the moment. I’m kind of debating DNFing it, but I need to know what happens with the ships, and maybe some of the plot holes will be resolved??

I’m also reading THE HAPPINESS PROJECT, about a woman who studied how to be happier for a year. I’m feeling super inspired by this book and kind of want to do my own happiness project because reading the book has made me realize a lot of things about myself and my state of happiness (or unhappiness), and I’d like to work on being actually happy now that my mental health stuff is a lot more under control. It’s a very cool book though I will def be skipping the parenting parts.

What are you reading? Tell me in the comments!

  1. That is sad to hear about Caraval but then again maybe it is something I need to knock off my TBR. I posted my WWW 🙂

I’m really glad that the Happiness project has inspired you 🙂 One of the few self-help books that ever helped me was the art of not giving a F by Sarah Knight. It is hysterical and true and so very helpful!

    1. oh, I’ve been debating reading that one actually! I’ve been a little hesitant because I’m really not a fan of a lot of cussing (I’m secretly 80 years old) but it has interested me in the past.

        1. lol yes that could be a good idea. I think we do actually have it at the library branch where I work so I could at least try it and see if the cussing bugs me too much.

  2. Hey sorry for the double post but quick question— is there not a “like” button on your page or am I missing it. 1) I always like a post even if I comment and 2) If I don’t have something authentic to comment I like to support everyone by at least liking the post.

    1. hmmm I feel like someone else has mentioned not being able to find a like button also. I do get likes on my posts so there must be one somewhere; when I look it’s at the bottom of the page before comments. maybe some people are doing it via the wordpress app though or through the wordpress reader? I’ll look into it.

    1. I hope it gets better for me because I did really love the first book. but now as I’m rereading it I’m unfortunately noticing a ton of flaws and plot holes and it’s getting on my nervvvvves 🙁

  3. I agree about the plot holes and world building in the Caraval series but despite that I’m still going to read Finale. I just need to know what happens and conclude the series. I still enjoyed both books though and maybe everything will come together by the end, who knows.

    1. I hope it will. I’m probably going to keep reading it as well; like you I just really need to know what happens! especially with Dante and Tella omg. best ship <3 <3
