Just Finished

I just finished THE CRUEL PRINCE, which was my most anticipated reads of the year…even though it took me until August to read it and it came out in…January. Alas, it was not all I hoped for. I liked it, but I didn’t LOVE it like I expected. This book was generally just too political and not enough magic, and I got bored even though characters were literally being slaughtered?? I just?? And the relationship between Jude and Cardan ended up boring me because they just hated each other so freaking much. Like…give their relationship *some* nuance at least. And Cardan had little to no character development so I didn’t care about him at all, and I definitely didn’t ship it.

Currently Reading

I am currently reading THE BONELESS MERCIES, which is about girl mercenaries. I am reading it even though I would really rather be reading something else, but here we are. I started and stopped about 8 books give or take before settling on this one. I can’t decide if I like it yet because there’s a lot of world info dumps but not a lot of plot or character development yet, so we will see.

Reading Next

After I force myself to read THE BONELESS MERCIES, I will be reading WILDCARD on my birthday on Friday. I wanted to have the perfect book to read that day, and I am confident that WILDCARD will be it. I loved WARCROSS so much and can’t wait to get back into this cool world and awesome characters!
